Usbasp windows 7 unknown device

This link helped me out. You avoided my problems. I am using windows 7 x Hi Albert, did you ever get this problem resolved?. Please let me know. I have a serious problem. I use win 7 professional. I installed the usbasp drivers and windows recognize the device. I also use bascom-avr for programming Atmel chips. My usbasp programmer works perfect on another pc with windows xp. Do you have any suggestion??

Did you purchase the unit from us? This is quite irritating. Just correct the Link internally or post multiple links. I mean nobody wants to waste time over bad links. On a positive note, I downloaded the file, unzipped it fine and installed it with no problems on my laptop running windows 7 64bit. The drivers are available all over the net but this is a hardware issue and if so many people have this, this is supposed to be a manufacturing defect.

I am on Windows 7 64 bit. Someone said that the problem will be fixed on XP. Should I go on installing XP then? There are many different reasons why you may be having difficulty with the programmer, manufacturing defect although rare is always a possibility. If you purchased it from us and there is a manufacturing defect, we will be more than happy to send you a new one. I just have a couple of questions first.

Does the programmer show up in device manager? The device shows up in device manager as an unknown device. When I first connected it, it was recognized as usbasp. Then this pc did not recognize it. I connected it to my netbook and it was recognized as usbasp. Their is a sofware deview which shows history of all connected deviced.

It also shows that a usbasp has been connected. Should I use a hub? Which hub do I need and what exactly would it do?

Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search. I just recently purchased Usbasp from Ali Express, when i'm connecting it to the windows 10 desktop in device manager its Unknown USB Device device descriptor request failed.

When I google the topic I see a lot of forums where people have issues getting their USBasp device working under windows So I find myself stuck in getting further. Are there any other things I can check?

Or is the device broken somehow which would surprise me as it does get installed properly in windows. I'm a bit late to the game, but I just experienced the same error albeit with different causes. Bonus: for the extra lazy ones, here's an example command line that would flash that Arduino Leonardo board from Atmel studio warning, this will overwrite the bootloader :.

In Zadig, you can select the driver. Default selected is in my case the WinUSB driver. When I select the libusb driver, and install that driver, it works like a charm.

This way it works with both - the official avrdude build, and the one from the Arduino IDE. To see if your USBASP is running on libusb-win32 driver, open windows device manager and look for libusb-win32 and expand to see if usbasp is there. Question 1 year ago on Step 5. What do you do if USB asp does not show on the list? I have 19 items in the list but not that one.

Windows 10 64 bit. Answer 6 months ago. Answer 1 year ago. And plug them in. Or easier restart all the windows or even power off and power on again. Hardware or jumper issue.
