8800gt game lockups
Even when Windows doesn't recognize the 3 slave drives, the board showed them as being connected during boot. I disabled my overclock earlier today and am running at stock. Since letting the computer rest and restarting it, no lockups. I let Prime95 run for the past 4 hours without issue. Jan 22, 0 0. From your description, the issue seems to be only occurring when you try to boot into windows, are when you are already in windows Nothing suspect is showing up when you power on and post into bios..
Try swapping the sata cable.. If that all looks ok.. You may want to consider dropping the overclock to something that lets you run closer to stock voltage for that chip If this fixes the problem, then either my OC has begun to degrade, or perhaps the PSU can no longer feed enough power to maintain that OC.
I can still get the chip to 3. I'll report back when I have more info. Thank you for all of your help. Good plan, let is know how it goes! Could you do me a favor? If you have the info handy can you list all your voltages for 3.
All of em Been trying to tinker with mine since the vcore i need is crazy wont even boot windows below 1. Blitz KriegeR said:. Jan 11, 1, 64 Comes in quite handy when you have a computer-gremlin that is being difficult to get rid of .

Com Support Forums. Hey all, posting in frustration at this point. Only suffer the freezes during gaming, between min normally.
Windows operation perfect. Screen locks, accompanied by a continuous noise. Am running the latest forcewear drivers etc. Is a brand new machine, fresh install, no funny buisiness. All suffer the same freeze. Even occurs during intro sequences. No change. As suggested elsewhere I have lowered the clock speed by 50 and the memory bus by with no change.
I have also disabled the Memory Remap Feature part of the BIOS, used for bit memory allocation, was a fix for another very similar problem. I know there a lot of similar problems out there to this. I'm even starting to suspect it's a phsyical needs-to-be-replaced fault. Where do I go from here? The thing is literally unplayable.
Do you suspect this is the same as the commonly reported problem? Does tend to sound a bit OTT. Sounds like you may have insufficient cooling or the card has a problem either with it's own fan or the temp sensor. Mind you, if you're not suffering any lockups, then it could be considered fine. Tried looking on Nvidia's tech section - assuming there is one - and seeing if there's anything mentioned there? Cant seem to dig up much other than a reference to them running hot as in TADT as well as some notes about a possible BIOS issue with some cards only running the fan at 20 percent.
How hot is hot on the other hand The previous suffered from intermittent overheating, artefacting and lockups but that had a lot to do with a dodgy GFX card fan. The is currently idling at 54c and normal idle in windows appears to be mid-fifties. Normal mid-game temps have been mid 80s all night on TF2 but with Stalker tonight providing that little extra bit of a workout and raising the eyebrows a little.
